Adrenaline from Czech Games Edition brings the frantic action of a multiplayer first-person shooter to the tabletop. Designed by Filip Neduk, this fast-moving strategy game puts 3–5 players into a futuristic combat arena where they race for weapons and ammunition, line up devastating attacks, and compete to inflict as much damage as possible on their opponents.

In the future, devastating warfare has left the world divided between rival factions. Rather than continuing an endless conflict, the factions have created a new way to settle their differences – a virtual bloodsport known as the Adrenaline tournament. Each faction sends a champion into the arena, and only the most effective combatants will emerge with victory.

Adrenaline draws inspiration from classic arena-based first-person shooter video games, translating their frantic movement, weapon pickups, and spectacular firefights into a tactical board game. Players move through the arena collecting ammunition and acquiring increasingly dangerous weapons before looking for the perfect opportunity to unleash them upon their rivals.

The game features a substantial arsenal represented by 21 weapon cards. Different weapons offer different ways to attack, making positioning an important consideration throughout the game. Building the right arsenal and manoeuvring into an advantageous location can set up a particularly destructive turn, but waiting too long may give another player the opportunity to strike first.

Despite its action-heavy theme, combat resolution is quick and diceless. Rather than relying upon attack rolls to determine whether your carefully planned shot succeeds, the challenge comes from positioning your character, managing ammunition, selecting weapons, and determining when and where to attack.

Taking damage doesn't necessarily leave a player helpless. In keeping with the game's high-speed arena-shooter inspiration, getting shot can actually make your character faster, helping keep wounded players involved in the action and creating opportunities for dramatic counterattacks.

The arena itself offers plenty of variety between games. The included double-sided game board comes in two parts, providing four possible setup combinations. This helps change the layout of the battlefield and encourages players to reconsider movement, positioning, and attack opportunities from one game to the next.

Five plastic player miniatures represent the competing champions, while colourful ammunition cubes, damage tokens, ammo tiles, power-up cards, weapon cards, and player boards make it easy to track the escalating battle. A separate board for game variants provides further options once players are familiar with the core experience.

Designed for 3–5 players aged 12 and over, with games taking approximately 60 minutes or more, Adrenaline is an excellent choice for groups looking for an interactive competitive game with plenty of tactical decisions but without lengthy combat calculations. Its unusual combination of strategic board game mechanisms and frantic arena-shooter presentation gives it a distinctive character.
