High Society is a fast-paced auction game of lavish spending and strategic restraint, designed by legendary game designer Reiner Knizia. In this elegant and cutthroat contest, 3 to 5 players take on the roles of wealthy socialites competing to outshine one another by acquiring status symbols — from yachts and jewels to racehorses and private islands.

Over the course of the game, players bid on luxurious lifestyle cards to raise their status, but there's a twist: whoever spends the most money during the game is disqualified at the end, regardless of their score. This creates a brilliant tension between bidding high to win and holding back just enough to stay in the running. Add in some penalty cards that reduce your prestige, and High Society becomes a sharp, compact game of risk, timing, and nerve.
